## What it does [#what-it-does]

A live, dry-run preview of the composition layer over real current project data: which work items are ready right now (and, for everything else, the real reason — wrong lifecycle status, or a named not-yet-done dependency), how ready work is grouped by real affinity (shared touchpoint/finding/spec/criterion, or a direct dependency), which groups the orchestrator would schedule this round against a real parallelism budget (and why a deferred group was deferred), and one bounded Execution Contract per scheduled group.

## When to use it [#when-to-use-it]

**Use when:** "what is happening right now and why" · "why was this work item not picked up" · "why are these two work items grouped together" · "what would run if I started an execution round now"

**Also use when:** building the Work > Execution surface — the North Star's Now/Needs-You "why this work, and why not that" promise

## When not to use it [#when-not-to-use-it]

you want to actually START a run — this tool never leases a slot, writes a run outcome, or mutates any work item; it is a read-only preview
