## What it does [#what-it-does]

The next task to pick up, in dependency order. REQUIRES the Strata19 living graph (STRATA19\_API\_KEY + STRATA19\_API\_ENDPOINT) — there is no local dependency order, so with no graph configured this returns no task and says why.

## When to use it [#when-to-use-it]

**Use when:** "what should I work on" · "what's next" · "give me the next task" — and the living graph is configured

**Also use when:** after finishing a task, before choosing the next one yourself — the queue already knows the dependency order

## When not to use it [#when-not-to-use-it]

a task is already named and you need its briefing — use get\_implementation\_context, not this tool; or no living graph is configured — use strata19.verify\_implementation for real local findings instead
