## What it does [#what-it-does]

Reindex, rebuild, clear-cache or reset the local code index; reset-project returns a whole project to a clean slate (archives authored state, clears derived state, de-registers it); prune removes dead registry entries. Dry-run by default; reset and reset-project need confirmDestructive: true.

**Use when:** "rebuild/reindex the index" · "the index feels stale" · "prune the project registry" · "reset this project" · "start this project over"

**Also use when:** the index is stale or corrupt after a rebase, or a project was indexed by an older build whose stored data no longer matches this one

## When not to use it [#when-not-to-use-it]

you only need to READ the index (it builds lazily), or to SEE the registry (use `strata19.local_project_manage` list\_projects — prune only removes). `reset` clears the index and keeps work items and findings; `reset-project` archives them.
