## What it does [#what-it-does]

Opt in or out of anonymous usage telemetry. OFF by default. When on, transmits ONLY an anonymous install id, session id, event type, and timestamp — never source code, prompts, conversation content, file paths, or any user identifier.

**Use when:** "what exactly does it collect about me" · "enable anonymous telemetry" · "turn off telemetry"

**Also use when:** you want the current consent state or the payload shape — omit `enabled` to read only
