Connect a project
Choose which local projects sync to your account
Connected and Pro are upcoming plans
Connecting a project requires a Connected or Pro subscription, which is not open for purchase yet.
Goal
Make one local project available to your account, so its records sync and appear in the web workspace.
Before you start
- Sign in, as described in Sign in.
- Check your plan's project limit in Limits and allowance.
Steps
- Open the project in your coding host with the plugin installed.
- Ask the plugin to connect this project. It shows what categories will sync (see Sync and privacy) and asks for your confirmation.
- Confirm. The first sync starts, and the project appears in the web workspace.
Verify
The plugin reports how many connected-project slots you are using out of your plan's limit, for example "1 of 3". The project then appears in your web workspace once the first sync completes, and later changes sync shortly after they happen. You can also ask the plugin to sync now.
If it doesn't work
- If the plugin refuses to connect, check that you are signed in and that your plan is Connected or Pro. Free Local does not sync.
- If you have used every connected-project slot, disconnect another project first, or compare plans in Limits and allowance.
- If the plugin asks whether this project is the same one that already shares its first commit, answer carefully: confirm only when it really is the same project, and choose a new project when it is a different one.
- If you have not agreed to sync, the plugin will not connect. Sync needs your consent, given when you confirm the categories it shows.
Disconnecting
Disconnect a project at any time from the plugin or your account. Disconnecting stops sync and frees a connected-project slot; data already hosted for it stays read-only. Records already synced are kept until you delete them or the retention period after cancellation ends.
Large repositories
Analysis runs on your machine. A repository larger than the local ceiling is indexed within a bounded size with a clear message, rather than running out of memory. Strata19 does not analyse repositories on its servers.
