Sign in to your Strata19 account from the plugin and the website
Connected and Pro are upcoming plans
Accounts are used by the Connected and Pro plans, which are not open for purchase yet. Free Local needs no account and works the same with or without one.
Goal
Link your plugin to your Strata19 account so synced features can run.
Before you start
- Have the plugin installed in your coding host.
- Have an email address you can verify, or a GitHub or Google account to sign in with.
- You do not need an account for Free Local. Sign in only if you plan to use a Connected or Pro feature.
Steps
- Create or open your account at strata19.com. You can sign in with GitHub, Google, or an emailed magic link, or with an email and password.
- Verify your email address. A verified email is required before you can subscribe.
- In your coding host, ask the plugin to sign in. It shows a short code and opens strata19.com/activate.
- Enter the code on that page and approve the sign-in while you are signed in on the website.
- Return to the host. The plugin stores a revocable key for this device.
Verify
When the code is approved, the plugin reports that you are signed in and shows your email and plan. Ask the plugin for your account status at any time to see the plan, renewal, connected projects used against the limit, and allowance used against what remains.
If it doesn't work
- If the code expires before you approve it, the sign-in ends as expired. Ask the plugin to sign in again to get a new code.
- If you decline on the website, the sign-in ends as denied. Start again when you are ready.
- If the account already has the maximum number of signed-in devices, sign-in fails with a message. Remove a device from your account page, then try again.
- If the plugin cannot save the new key on this machine, it revokes the key it just created instead of leaving it behind, and tells you so.
- Signing out clears the credential on this machine first, so it works offline. If the device key could not be revoked on the server at that moment, revoke it from your account page.
Manage devices
Your account page lists each signed-in device and when it was last used. You can revoke a device, or sign out everywhere, at any time. A revoked device falls back to Free Local behaviour on its next request.
What an account does not change
Signing in does not upload anything by itself. Nothing is synced until you connect a project, and the local plugin keeps working without a connection.
