What it does
An inventory of every file in the repo: path, language, LOC, last commit, symbol count. Skips .git/node_modules/dist. Defaults to 5,000 files (not a ceiling); truncation is disclosed via truncated/totalCount/note.
When to use it
Use when: "show me the files in this repo" · "give me an inventory of every file with line counts"
Also use when: the user is picking a focus target from the file tree
When not to use it
a single specific file or symbol is already in focus — use get_finding_detail or compute_change_impact
